Green Key in 27 countries with more to come

Green Key is an eco-label awarded to over 1500 establishments in 27 countries worldwide

The label was invented in Denmark in 1994, but in 2002 the Green Key became a part of an international Fee collaboration.

At present the Green Key label is recognized in 27 countries counting Denmark, Belgium, Cyprus, Dominican Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Jordan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Russia, Sweden, Tunisia, Turkey, Ukraine and with more to come.

Beeing part of the international collaboration Fee (Foundation of Environmantal Education) Green Key has access to 60 countries that can run the Green Key Ecolabel in the near future. Before a country can implement Green Key it has to be approved by Fee and it must be an NGO that is behind the program in the country.

Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is a non-governmental and non-profit organisation aiming to promote sustainable development through environmental education. FEE is mainly active through our five environmental education programmes: Blue Flag, Eco-Schools, Young Reporters for the Environment, Learning about Forests and Green Key.
