Danish hotel donates over a million to fight cancer

During the annual Kokke Knækker Cancer (Chef's beat cancer) event at Hotel Koldingfjord last weekend 1.2 million DKK was donated to fighting cancer.

The Danish hotel industry once again contributed to the annual fundraising event with the purpose of fighting cancer. In connection to the event at Hotel Koldingfjord a gala hosted by TV2 was held at the same day collecting a total of 142 million DKK for the cause, including the donations from the hotel industry.

As a side note, members of Green Key now get extra points for their sustainability efforts if they contribute to a good cause. Hotel Koldingfjord is one of the Green Key members that deserve their extra points, as they made the biggest donation of the Danish travel industry.  150 guests attended this year's Kokke Knækker Cancer event on Saturday evening. The result from the event at Hotel Koldingfjord was 1,284,960 DKK. Thus, this project has during the past six years contributed with 6.5 million DKK.

During the evening guests at Hotel Koldingfjord were served an excellent menu and wines provided by the hotel's food and beverage manager Jesper Kristensen as well as his team of chefs and waiters. An auction was also hosted during the evening to collect money for the cause.
