New Copenhagen hotel says no to chemicals

The recently opened luxurious boutique-style hotel Herman K, part of Brøchner Hotels, is making a statement by being called the first chemical free hotel in Denmark.

Herman K, which opened this summer, is a brand new five star hotel in Copenhagen with striking designer details. The hotels sustainability niche is that they do not use any chemicals in any of their cleaning products. The boutique hotel is a part of the Brøchner Hotels, a renowned hotel chain with a focus on uniqueness and sustainability. The Brøchner Hotels are also proudly Green Key certified.

To create Denmarks first chemical free hotel, Brøchner Hotels teamed up with Danish company ACT. Brøchner Hotels  explains that the hotel rooms are treated with ACT CleanCoat, which is an invisible and odorless coating that makes all surfaces self-disinfectant. The coat lowers the bacteria level, improves air quality and ensures a healthy indoor climate. Christian Lond, the director of procurement at Brøchner Hotels explains that the coating makes a noticeable difference as dirt and limestone does not attach to the surfaces in the hotel room as it would in regular cases. This is the reason why the hotel staff can avoid to use chemicals in their cleaning products, there is simply not need for any strong cleaning agents and the cleaning process is less demanding.

Herman K is Brøchner Hotels fourth hotel and they are all focused on highlighting sustainability as their concept.
